How Often to Participate in Competitions?
Competitions are a huge leap in the progress of each athlete, that is why participating in them is a must.
If your goals are the growth, development and achievements, choose two competition seasons in a pole dance in a year for yourself and prepare for them.
However, it is possible to compete several times in a single season.
If you see no fault in dancing the same routine more than once, the number of performances may depend only on your free time, opportunities, and preferences.
Performing the same routine is a normal practice. Sometimes you may regret that preparation took up so much time, efforts, and money but the pole dance was shown only once.
Besides, the performing experience sometimes helps to better feel the production. That is why many athletes, before attending a major competition, take part in a few minor ones for honing their dance.
If you dislike repeating yourself, then the number of performances in a year will vary roughly between 2 and 3. This is the number of productions you can prepare well in a year, provided that you take it seriously.
You shouldn’t leap from one competition to another. Preparation stresses out and keeps you in a nervous condition. During this period you usually have no strength for anything except honing your routine. Take time-outs; do not fear to occasionally miss a season for gaining experience, strength, ideas, new skills and even techniques. Then your next pole dance performance will surely be better than the previous ones.
